About Rusty

Rusty Shropshire joins Mortgage Center bringing over a decade of mortgage lending experience and a unique background that sets him apart in the industry.

Before entering the mortgage world, Rusty built his career—literally. He served as a construction superintendent for a national homebuilder before launching his own construction business. This hands-on experience gives him an invaluable perspective when helping clients finance new construction homes, and it has made him a trusted resource for builder partners throughout his career.

Rusty began his mortgage career in 2011 at Bank of America, where he spent more than five years developing his expertise in residential lending. He went on to hold originator and leadership roles at Assurance Financial, Interfirst Mortgage Company, Silverton Mortgage, and most recently Tri Pointe Connect, where he spent over two and a half years as a Mortgage Consultant.

With deep experience across conventional (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac), FHA, and VA loan products, Rusty is well-equipped to guide borrowers through a wide range of financing scenarios. He’s particularly skilled at cultivating strong Realtor relationships and has a proven track record of collaborating with builders to deliver seamless financing solutions for new construction buyers.

Rusty holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Based in the Charlotte metro area, he now brings his expertise and relationship-driven approach to the Mortgage Center team.
